Mediahuis, wanted to make more sales with the same team size. We built a new e-commerce environment that is efficient, scalable and distinctive.
Mediahuis, formerly Telegraaf Media Group, is one of the Netherlands' largest media companies. It is a major player with brands like De Telegraaf, VROUW, Privé, Metro, Autovisie, various regional magazines and digital brands like Dumpert, Speurders and GroupDeal. The latter is a platform for daily offers. A number of years ago, Mediahuis started offering GroupDeals as a white label concept. This gave rise to various websites full of offers such as Telegraaf offers, Speurders offers and Impulse.
Mediahuis has a wide range of labels. One of the starting points was to grow e-commerce sales with the same team size. This means working more efficiently. In order to make all labels shoppable, we chose to work with one back office and several store fronts. This enables us to launch a new label in no time.
From our vision, commerce is in the base, a commodity and can be purchased we chose for Mediahuis a platform where all basic functionalities are available out-of-the-box. This eliminates the need to invest in building a product catalog or checkout. This approach put the focus directly on developing the functionalities that make the organization unique. In the case of Mediahuis, these included integrations with fulfilment, finance and the supplier portal.
The products of the sites are delivered via dropshipping, i.e. without Mediahuis' intervention. The supplier portal provides insight into the orders and deliveries. This portal connects seamlessly to the e-commerce platform. In this way, Mediahuis employees are relieved and can focus on conversion optimization.
For Mediahuis, we chose an e-commerce platform that offers a lot of functionality as standard. This ensured that value could be added immediately without having to reinvent the wheel. Now Mediahuis is finally ready for the future with a user-friendly multi-site e-commerce environment that is scalable and distinctive.
